It's raining crorepatis in Gujarat this election season. Yes, you heard that right! While Gujarat is totally heated up with the ongoing political fight, the state has also witnessed a tough fight between its candidates in terms of the wealth they possess. According to a survey conducted by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Gujarat Election Watch, 198 candidates in the first phase are ‘crorepatis', while 199 nominees in the second phase have assets more than Rs. 1 crore. BJP candidate Dhanjibhai Patel of Wadhwan seat is in the fourth place with declared assets of Rs 113.47 crore. Though Dhanjibhai, chairman of Surendranagar-based Makson Group of companies, has emerged third in the ‘crorepati’ list, he is on the top in terms of annual income. (Twitter)

The next in the line is BJP candidate for Botad seat Saurabh Patel who has declared assets worth Rs 123.78 crore. Saurabh holds the post of State Cabinet Minister in the Vijay Rupani-led state government.
